How to Get Wax Out of Carpet?
A beautiful bathtub setup after a long day can really be a lovely way to unwind. Candles, music, bath bombs. Or lighting a few candles before guests come over can freshen up the air as well as set a relaxed mood for the evening. Most of us enjoy lighting a candle every now and then. This only becomes a problem when we forget to monitor those candles closely enough. If you have ever gotten wax of any sort stuck in your carpet, you are aware of how difficult it can be to get out. If you are struggling with this, Niptuck Carpet Repair wants to help you out.
Step One
The first removal method is to simply scrape away the wax as much as you can once it has dried. You can just use a butter knife to get the job done. Afterwards, be sure to vacuum up any wax shards that have managed to sink into your carpet.
Step Two
Another method is to apply heat to the dried wax. Using a plain cloth or paper towel, cover the area. Next, grab your clothing iron and on its lowest setting, gently press over your towel. Move in circular motions to evenly distribute the heat. As the wax heats up, it will be absorbed into the towel. You can repeat the steps, as necessary. Make sure to use only plain cloths to avoid color or pattern transfers onto your carpet.
Step Three
Even if you have followed the above-mentioned steps, there may still be residual wax that is left behind. If that is the case, you can follow up with a proper carpet cleaner. Follow the manufacturer's instructions as they tend to differ from product to product.
If even after following all those removal methods you are still not satisfied with the results, give Niptuck Carpet Repair a call today! We specialize in carpet repairs and can simply replace your soiled area of carpet with a new piece. Good as new!
